The Fire Prevention Bureau is not part of Kinnelon Volunteer Fire Company. It is an administrative function of the Borough of Kinnelon under Chapter 123 of the Kinnelon municipal code. (In the General Code E-Code, after finding Kinneelon, enter search request: "fire prevention"). The Fire Prevention Bureau oversees enforcement of the Uniform Fire Safety Act and Uniform Fire Code. The Fire Official, Chief Inspector and Fire Inspectors may be, but are not required to be, members of Kinnelon Volunteer Fire Company. They are appointed by the Mayor and Council. They are paid for their services and are required to pass licensing training and examinations. There currently are vacancies in the "Inspector" ranks and inquiries are invited.
